Dear all,

This is a real story of what happened to my family last night (Nov 6). It certainly raised the alarm that Malaysia is no longer a safe place to stay.

Around 10:30pm, as usual, my dad went out to lock the gate outside my house because we don’t have auto-gate. Once he opened the wood door at living room, he found that the stainless steel door is opened, with little suspicious, he thought my mum just went out for a walk, so he went out to find her.

Out of a sudden, there’s an Indian guy holding a “parang” about 80cm long jumping out from nowhere aiming my dad, then came another 2 guys with parang and 1 guy without weapon. They’d been hiding around my house and waiting for someone to come out. According to my dad, there’s another guy standing outside the gate to cover them. So, there are total 5 indian guys, masked & dressed in black.

My dad started to shout for help and the guy with parang tried to slash him, luckily my dad is calm and brave enough to hold one of the inidian guys without weapon as hostage, my dad “hugged” him tight so that the guy with parang will not able to slash my dad.

We heard the shouting and thought there were people fighting outside, we rushed to living room and my sis saw the robbers, she immediately slammed the wood door, but it’s too late! The 2 guys with parang blocked the door and came in. My mum with my sis ran into different rooms and locked the door, I ran to the back door trying to escape and ask for help only to find out there’s no way out because there’s a guy waiting outside the gate.

So I went back to the house, my younger sis and I were threatened by the 2 guys with parang, they wanted us to ask my sis who is in the room to open the door, otherwise they will hurt us (he spoke in Malay, “Panggil dia buka pintu, kalau tidak saya potong awak!”). We’re so frightened that we have no choice but to ask my sis to open the door. Meanwhile, one of them with parang started to search the house. He took two laptops, two new mobiles and my sis’s purse with her cards, IC and cash around SGD 1K. Guess they are satisfied with the “earnings”, they ran out and climbed over the gate.

We’re so worried about my dad and rushed to check him out. Luckily he’s not badly hurt, he was pushed by the robber and knocked his head on the floor. His back got few scratches and bruises. My mum who tried to run fell down and had few cuts on her knees and legs, while my sis twisted her toe.

Our neighbors who heard our screaming didn’t offer help but kept quiet and peeking out from the window because they’re afraid of the parang and they might be in danger if they offer help. There’s another neighbor who passed by our house earlier told us after the incident that she saw two Indians standing outside our gate looking suspicious, but she didn’t alert us.

It is sad to know how selfish the people are nowadays. It’s shivering to know that this type of robbery happens everyday in Malaysia, it’s on the news everyday but we didn’t know that this time is our turn. We are lucky we only lost some belongings and cash but we’re not badly hurt.

So, please, be extra cautious no matter where you are. Home is no longer a safe place, these guys certainly have a plan and they will watch you for few days to know your daily routine before they take action. Do whatever you can to minimize the chance for you to be their next victim.

Regards,
Jxxxx Jxxxx
